Lazimpat (Nepali: लाजिम्पाट) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Lazimpat is close to the Narayanhity Palace Museum, and is well known in Kathmandu for different hotels, restaurants, schools, colleges, embassies and department stores present in this area. Notable hotels are Hotel Radisson, Hotel Gangjong, Hotel Shangri-La, The Shanker Hotel (a former palace), Hotel Ambasaddor etc. Lazimpat shares its border with Thamel, a popular tourist hub. Lazimpat is just 20 minutes away from what is downtown of Kathmandu, New Road, Durbar Marg and Ason.
